Richie Hawtin, Skrillex, Luciano and Bridges For Music director Valentino Barrioseta addressed an eager and full audience at the Bridges For Music talk at Sonar last Friday.

There was also a short screening of a film that is being made to document the journey that each artist has made and the positive effect it is having on the areas. Richie, Skrkillex and Luciano all used the opportunity to express their desire to stay committed to the project moving forward and supporting young music minds from the disadvantage areas in their chosen career paths.
“I can’t really explain it, it was the proudest moment in my career really” – Richie Hawtin on the popup gig he did in Kliptown, Soweto
“I loved seeing how hungry the people we met in South Africa are to get somewhere. They don’t want pity, they want to create better lives for themselves”
 – Skrillex on his visit to langa, Cape Town
” I grew up in a neighborhood in Chile with lots of similarities to the townships of South Africa, and I know how music can change your life ” – Luciano
