With just one month to go, Roundhouse Rising Festival announce a swathe of fresh talent for their 2017 event, taking place from Saturday 11th – Sunday 19th February 2017. The week-long program will feature workshops, tutorials and live performances from the likes of Little Simz, Mick Jenkins, Catholic Action, Vant, Edges, Sumochief and more…

Having established an unrivalled reputation for discovering some of the UK’s hottest fresh talents, Roundhouse Rising reveal further names for the class of 2017.

Dream-pop four-piece Swimming Girls join the launch party lineup on February 11th, along with ferocious modern grunge band Calva Louise who will open the show for previously announced headliners, Catholic Action.

Wednesday’s free-to-attend Springboard Live session headlined by North London duo Edges, welcomes emerging talent from around the UK; Norwich neo soul duo Maya Law & Allergy Kid, electro-soul Bristol outfit 4th Project and Manchester’s rising DJ/Producer Abnormal Sleepz.

Thursday’s Rising Sounds album launch will unveil the tracks laid down by the top producers and unsigned artists who took part in the flag-ship project. Soul singer ArA Harmonic takes the headline slot, having supported legendary artist Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and Dub Pistols, and will follow in the footsteps of Maverick Sabre and Waylayers as artists to record tracks for the Rising Sounds album.  Promising unsigned acts Sonny and Lovutta will also join the bill on February 16th.

In fitting style, some of the best home-grown Roundhouse talent steps up to complete the closing party on Sunday 19th February. Rapper and Roundhouse Resident Artist Awate will join previously announced headliners Sumochief and KOKOROKO with Roundhouse Music Collective rounding-off an evening dedicated to urban sounds.

With a week-long program offering live music, a club night, workshops, panels and tutorials from leading industry figures, Roundhouse Rising Festival provides a unique opportunity to discover new music and learn how the industry works.
