Motion & Hypercolour Celebrate Their 10th Birthday

With… Laurent Garnier, Marco Bernardi, Alex Jones & Cedric Mason

Day Party

Sunday, 6th November

One of the founding fathers of the electronic music scene, Laurent Garnier joins UK label Hypercolour, headlining celebrations as they mark their 10th Anniversary at Bristol’s premier club Motion, who’ll also be celebrating their 10th Birthday on the 6th November.

Motion has made its name as one of the best nightclubs in Bristol with its big-name DJ bookings and reputation from late-night raves. The highly sought after multi-warehouse venue, which opened as part club, part skate park back in 2006, attracts people from across the UK and around the world, previously hosting artists including Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Seth Troxler, Ricardo Villalobos and Ben Klock to name but a few.

Also running since 2006, with 6 offshoots to boot and a monthly show on NTS radio, Hypercolour will celebrate a decade spent purveying the finest, forward-thinking house and techno from worldwide talent, and achieving deserved status as one of the most important labels in the present.

Laurent Garnier has spent the last 3 decades making the party-goers and music lovers groove across the globe. A kingpin of dance music, Garnier has influenced parties far and wide, inspired by Manchester’s acid-house rave movement, his impact on the French music scene and party culture in Paris and beyond is undeniable. Undying dedication to exploring music, culture and translating that passion into clubs has seen him generate a unique pulse across the globe. Through sets which are a smorgasbord of sounds and illustrated in his vast array of achievements, a life spent collecting music has led to an award-winning, highly acclaimed career. The Gallic pioneer has several releases on the Hypercolour imprint, and continues to push the quality electronic music he has spent his life championing through headlining parties across the world.

Label bosses Cedric Maison and Alex Jones, will also play, joined by Bristol based artist Marco Bernardi. Over the last decade, Bernardi’s productions have garnered support from the likes of Dave Clarke and his set at Motion comes following recent appearances at European festivals including Sonar and Berlin Atonal. Maison, now based in Berlin has seen his DJ status blossom, having played alongside the likes of Matthew Herbert, Denis Sulta, Groove Armada this year alone. Jones continues to produce both solo, having released on XL records, Vitalic and Hypercolour, and as one half of techno duo Dense and Pika, with an Adam Beyer collaboration in the pipeline.
